POSITION:                 Membership Services Manager

REPORTS TO:          Chief Operations Officer

LOCATION:               Salt Lake City

CLASSIFICATION:    Full-time, Exempt

 Position Overview/Job Purpose

The Membership Services Manager is responsible for developing and executing effective recruiting strategies to increase girl and adult membership. The Membership Services Manager oversees Recruitment, Placement and Outreach Specialists who make up the membership recruitment team. This team is responsible for recruiting new members, retaining existing members and identifying opportunities for community outreach. The Membership Services Manager makes data-driven decisions to meet the council's membership goals.

 JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • With the recruitment team, implement GSU's membership plan to meet membership goals
  • Maintain the membership dashboard via SalesForce which outlines and tracks progress toward membership goals
  • Support the membership recruitment team in navigating and delivering on membership benchmarks
  • Leverage the GSU Service Unit Leadership volunteers to identify leads and increase membership within Service Units
  • Seek opportunities and develop relationships with community organizations, corporations, schools, educators, and faith-based institutions to increase awareness of, and participation in, Girls Scouts
  • In partnership with the GSU Data Analyst, understand, use and share data from SalesForce, Looker, GSUSA, and other relevant sources
  • Assign individual goals and ensure team is knowledgeable of department and council-wide goals; regularly evaluate individual team member's performance
  • Research market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information relevant to designated geographic areas; implement findings to develop innovative, recruitment and retention strategies
  • Attain Girl Scouts of Utah goals for lead generation
  • Represent Girl Scouts of Utah and serve as a Girl Scout brand ambassador
  • Model behavior consistent with the Mission and purpose of Girl Scouting

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Communications, Organizational Development, Education, Social Work, Sales, Management, or Public Administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in membership recruitment or sales
  • Experience in effectively managing team members to meet collective goals
  • Experience in delivering the Girl Scout program or similar service-oriented program
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse people and volunteers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer relationship management Systems (SalesForce), and social networking
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills including communicating complex information with clarity to diverse audiences
  • Ability to prepare and present accurate reports to council stakeholders
  • Have daily access to dependable transportation; a valid driver's license; and a driving record that meets the standard requirements for coverage under the council's business auto insurance policy
  • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: The employee is occasionally required to sit and/or stand for long periods and operate office equipment manually. The employee must be able routinely lift 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
