We are actively hiring a Graphic Designer to oversee Girl Scouts of Utah's (GSU) brand and increase community awareness and appeal through compelling graphics, publications and advertisements.  You will work with a team to align work plans and priorities to support the council's current strategic initiatives. 

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Brand Oversight
  • Graphic design
  • Manages all content and layout of website
  • Publications production
  • Design, deployment, maintenance and quality assurance of council website
  • Vendor relations
  • Master publication calendar management
  • Photography support

JOINT ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of GSU's brand.
  • Create and execute the concept, design, layout and distribution of all major publications, promotional material and advertising campaigns.
  • Design and create project logos, patches, invitations and other collateral.
  • Assist in managing relationships with printers, direct mail agencies and other vendors to ensure high quality deliverables while maximizing Girl Scout dollars.
  • Create and maintain branded resources, templates and tools for staff and volunteer use.
  • Responsible for user interface and overall customer experience for internal and external websites including overall navigation flow, layout of pages and creation of individual graphic elements.
  • Maintain and expand council website strategies.
  • Develop and maintain GSU's graphic, photo and font libraries.
  • Adhere to and help inform the master publications schedule. Ensure timelines, procedures and project deliverables are met for all major publications.
  • Support and attend signature council events.
  • Submit annual budget requests to department director and manage publication process to adhere to board-approved budgets.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Job duties may be subject to change pursuant to activities of the department and the organization as a whole

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability or relevant experience required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, web content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) preferred), database systems, email and internet research.

  • Ability to learn new software.

  • Knowledge of prepress and mail houses required.

  • Web development experience required.

  • Self-starter with proactive approach to tasks and ability to exercise good judgement.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to interact professionally with girls, volunteers and community partners.

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence through the following attributes: strong time and project management skills, detail-oriented, strong organization skills, ability to adhere to deadlines, and willingness to learn and develop new skills.

  • Girl Scout knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Ability to work as a full-time exempt staff member, based in the Salt Lake City office, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.

  • Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation, current driver's license and automobile insurance. Some travel in Utah is required.

  • Ability to sit at a workstation for up to 2 hours at a time.

  • Ability to view a computer screen for up to 2 hours at a time.
